September to May
Félicité Island is close to La Digue, Cocos and Sister island. It is mainly frequented by snorkellers as it complements Cocos islet and people visiting both snorkelling spots have at least a 60% chance of encountering the Hawksbill Turtle. There is no really nice beach on Félicité. Some years ago a development of luxury villas was started but it was never completed. This gives the island a desolate air. The coast is rocky and there is no proper jetty or pontoon so disembarkation can be risky as one has to climb the rocks. There is a beach that is accessible at low tide.
We visit Felicité uniquely for its underwater scene, when we have not found any turtles at Cocos islet. Visitors to Félicité are not required to pay an entrance fee.
